I’ve finally found an application that can synchronize Google Calendar with my phone, SE k750i. It’s a java application for phones called gcalsync, and from my initial testing it seems to work just fine.
Previously I’ve tried using Remote Calendars for Outlook and then from Outlook to my phone using the sync software I got with my phone. But Remote Calendars didn’t work very well, and on top of that the two step sync process isn’t very user friendly.
Maybe things would be even easier if Google added SyncML support to Google Calendar, but right now it looks like there are no such plans.
At bloody last 🙂 It’s going to be interesting to see if this works. Sadly enough it’s still not optimal, a direct conduit from outlook to gcal would have been preferable in my case – but this is definitely a step in the right direction! ( forward 😉 )
yay, finally. =)
And also,
I does not work for either of us. Bloody crap.
How does it not work? I thought Viktor has the same phone as me?
Well my problem is that no events are downloaded and uploaded. Reading on the homepage of gcalsync it would seem this is related to the time zone setting in some way. Though I can’t understand how. My phone is set to GMT +1, and so is the time setting on google calendar. Do you have the same settings Appel?
Yes, I have GMT +1 set for both the phone and google calendar.
well, bah den 😉
Must be something else then. 🙂 Maybe Google simply does not like your phone? 😉
Maybe we have different versions of the SE OS on our phones? I can’t remember how to check it right now, but other than that I can’t figure any other possible differences between our phones.
Looks like my firmware is a bit old 🙂 I’ve got R1AA008. According to this esato forum post I really should upgrade because they’ve improved the speed of the camera in newer versions.
See k750i service info for instructions on how to enter the service menu 😉
Looks like I have R1CA021
Wich one is the newst? Let me know if Gcal still works after you upgrade.
Now I’ve upgraded my k750i to version R1DB001 and tried gcalsync version 1.1.1 and as far as I can tell it still works.
To install gcalsync 1.1.1 the old version had to be removed first.
